tanner2272
Hi all, I'm a potential new PrestaShop user and I'm just wondering as to whether some of the elements seen on the website DEMO store are "out of the box" or reliant on additional Payed For modules? 1) I have already enquired about running a store, where you can't actually purchase online - just browse and then buy offline. Apparently this is "Catalogue Mode"... My question here is, can potential customers still put products they're interested in, into some sort of shopping cart and then email that cart (in store) to Admin, who will then deal with offline sales? 2) how "out of the box" configurable is the PrestaShop homepage... in regard to featured products, promotions of sale products etc. The fancy slide-scrollers you often see, are they specifically add-on modules only? 3) Newsletters - the Presta DEMO site includes a newsletter sign-up email box and the Presta website mentions "Subscribe to Newsletter" on one of it's features page's. But I'm not 100% sure that's "out the box". 4) Presta's DEMO site has a lovely Product image gallery effect, where rolling over small thumbnails shows those images in the larger main image. Plus clicking brings up a nice jQuery popup larger image window. Is all this "standard" in Presta, without any additional modules? 5) have people had good experiences of using the Mobile App that Presta offer? This is the App, rather than the theme. I'm aware there's a monthly or annual charge for use of the App. 6) I believe integrating a Blog into Presta will have to be an additional module. Any recommendations (bearing in mind we'd want to retrospectively pull in all old posts in an existing Blogspot blog. 7) Again, on Presta's DEMO site, the actual Product pages have a tabbing system to show "More Info" and "Datasheet". Are these tabs "out the box"? And can additional bespoke tabs be easily added? 8) Related Products/cross selling. Is this built in, or we we need a module? Since we wouldn't actually be selling "on-line" then related products based upon 'what other things customers bought' wouldn't work... so it'd be a more manual Admin choice of picking products to group as Related. I know that downloading and installing would give me a personal test server view of what Presta does & doesn't do "out the box"... but I'm basing assumptions on their own DEMO and asking before I go through the installation process. Thanks in advance. Regards, m.
benjamin utterback
Hello m, in catalog mode, you do not have the option of adding items to the cart. There are modules that will allow you have some sort of fancy sliders and other items of that nature. The newsletters module does come standard in PrestaShop. Generally people have good reviews about the mobile app. There are serveral different blog modules available form the Add-On store. We also have a word press integration. Cross selling is also a module at the Add-On store. I hope this helps!
