Problems with email functions.

Hello,

 

I've installed a fresh prestashop today (v1.5.0.17) and am busy setting up my shop. I am trying to set up the email settings, but i cant get them to work.

 

I can choose from PHP Mail & SMTP. my problems:

 

PHP Mails When i activate this option, my emails arrive to the designated email adres.. but they arrive in the spam folder. the sender is the nameserver of the server i'm hosting my website.

 

Hoster says it has to do with the mail header, i should reconfigure them... How to do that he couldn't tell me.. Any suggestions?

 

So i tried SMTP..

 

SMTP I've tried giving in my smtp data (same as in Outlook, works there) and tried to sent a test email. I got the following error:

 

Fout: controleer uw e-mail configuratie

The SMTP connection failed to start [mail.kabelwereld.nl:25]: fsockopen returned Error Number 110 and Error String 'Connection timed out'

 

So i went back to the host.. His reaction was that it has something to do with prestashop, since the smtp server is online and working.

 

 

Any suggestions on how to fix my problems?

I am having this problem as well. On my localhost, it was fine with smtp. but when I use my hosting server, namecheap, it not working at all and gives me the same message.

 

Any updates?
