josecarre
Hi, i'm getting listed on 'visitors origin' in Prestashop some addresses from .ru domains. The strange part is that according to Google Analytics I didnt have any visit from Russia, and I have no Google listed Referrals from these sites ¿Should I worry? I checked my .htaccess file and I dont see anything I didnt put there... This are some of the sites listed in my back officce, with not many visits, as you can see: foto-star.ru 6 evoque.ru 2 duster-ru 2 astro.tomsk.ru 2 psvita.ru 2 sibavtotrak.ru 2 prestigedev.ru 2 giftsburg.ru 2 Edited September 28, 2012 by josecarre (see edit history)
vekia
Don't worry. It could be bots or something like that...
benjamin utterback
Hello, yes, vekia is correct, it most certainly could be bots, which in 99% of cases are harmless. Sometimes our geolocation feature will highlight an IP in the middle of the ocean. Obviously not true. There is a nice article on securing PrestaShop after install here I hope that link helps you gain some insight. Thank you for choosing PrestaShop! SuperCharlie
I was getting a lot of .ru visits and did a little research and found that some sites have bots which show these sites as the referrer so you will go look at them and increase their traffic so they will have more ad revenue. Since I have no clients from Russia, I banned the whole country at htaccess...booya.

colectalia
I had the same problem than you, dozens of visits from rare .ru websites, but surprisingly those visits did not come from Russia! I looked at their IP's and 99.90% of them came from Ukraine, so using the Geolocation function I blocked all visits from Ukraine, and those stupid visits finished at once. After blocking access from Ukrania I only got one visit from a .ru referrer, and to avoid it to come again to my site I simply banned visits from that website from .htaccess.
