[SOLVED] Where are product download zip files stored?

Where are product download zip files stored? Can these by uploaded via ftp and then linked to the product?

They are stored in /download/ directory however files are processed, added to DB, renamed and de-extensioned before being added to that directory so no you could not just add the zip files there. You can see this by creating a downloadable product and checking the download directory before and after. Locate the newly added file and add .zip extension to it, you will have the file you added to the product.

No, import does not have a field for downloads. You can create virtual/downloadable products with import but you would need to add files manually. Check at add-ons to see if there is a module for it. Also look at the free and paid modules forums.
