(Solved) - Moving shop from domain to subdirectory

Hi,

 

I want to move my shop from mysite.com to mysite.co.uk/shop

 

Both sites are hosted on the same server and it's the same database.

 

Is it as simple as moving all the files from one folder to another?

Thank you for the reply. I found that help file but was wondering if I'm using the same the database do I need to actually change the /config/settings.inc.php file.

Am I right in thinking that I only need to follow the part in the help file -

 

Log in to your Back Office, go to the "Preferences" tab, select the "SEO & URLs" sub-tab, and change the domain name to your new domain. Do the same for the SSL domain

 

and don't need to touch the /config/settings.inc.php file.

Could someone confirm that as I'm using the same database on the same server that I only have to change the domain name in the BO Preferences / SEO & URLs tab and don't have to change /config/settings.inc.php file.

That is correct, just keep in mind that the back office admin will now be accessed through mysite.co.uk/shop/admin. (or your name)

The admin does not care what directory it is in as long as you use the correct address, then go to SEO & URLs and change the

PS Directory to /shop/ the next two domains will not need to be changed, the domain has not changed just the directory of the shop.

My site is a sub domain of the main site and this is my setup.

 

PS Directory: /shop/

Index file: index.php

Shop domain name mysite.com

Shop domain for SSl: mysite.com
