the.rampage.rado
1. When I click "add to cart" and then click on the cart to start finishing my order it gives me 'cart empty'. 2. I have huge cache problem with the BO - when I save something and go back to the same page it gives me exactly the same page as before (all buttons, text, etc.). I have to click 1-2 refresh to get to the new settings I made last. - VERY annoying - having the issue with Chrome and FF. 3. How I can edit customer registration fields. I have to remove some, I don't need State, VAT number, etc... How I can do that? More to follow... Come on guys the platform is great but if things keep going the same I'll stick with ZenCart and simply bite on the functions I miss and have presented here. I can't make a test order with this FINAL release what to speak if I want SSL and stuff like multidomain multishops, etc. I can't imagine if those will work at all.... Give me a hand... Register account (if you can!) in Bulgaria and try some stuff on the shop... http://www.rampagehockey.eu/presta 1.5.0.
rseigel
As much as it KILLS me to say it - it looks like Magento is a better choice for those that are serious. It more for shop owners than bug testers/reporters like Presta seems to be. I'm going to try to stick it out for now but this buggy of a major release makes me nervous. Trip
Dear Ron, if you are a big company you are probably right. When you look at the recommended server requirement 250 mb min, recommended 500 mb php memory limit than you see without a root server you will have lots of troubles. In many countries people can not afford that. When you look at the comparison http://www.magentocommerce.com/product/compare you see that many features like Full-page Caching and many other things you get free with PS are not included in the community version. When you can afford the 14000$ or 50000$ (per year) for the enterprise or premium version you are in the game. Many other modules like one page checkout you have to buy too. Please have a look at the countless fixes in the release notes and you get an idea that they probably have the same problems or simply use the community editions to have the public beta test their enterprise products. http://www.magentocommerce.com/download/release_notes#Release%20Notes%20-%20Magento%201.7.0.2%20%28Jul%205,%202012%29 Depending on what you need there are probably better solutions but I have my reasons for ps although I must admit that it can be sometimes annoying. I hope they will enhance more regarding stabiltiy testing. I for example installed a new paypal module in a rush and next day costumers informed me that the check out process was broken. I installed the new mobile theme to see that it somehow brakes my website too. This is really annoying. When my checkout process is broken I loose orders without even knowing it. Fortunately a customer told me that but already some orders where lost. Such "experiments" always cost me money. I mean if it is a new feature I have to expect bugs but regarding to payment modules it is hard to accept that a new version is more buggy than the previous one. To roll out a total blocker is more than annoying. Best regards, trip
