Disabling a language

I'v Disabled the English language from prestashop

TOOLS > langauges

 

now i left with only 1 language.

 

 

but in the catalog it still shows me the name of the products in English , instead of the default language

 

 

Why?

Yes. Iv disabled english and set the other language as the default

Good only for front office.

 

Catalog products still shows me The name of the products in english instead the default language

back up your root .htaccess file

regenerate your .htacess file

clear your browser cache and cookies

and try it again

well i guess i have not choice but to go to every product i have and to delete english

check that you mysql db has the correct table configuration PS_LANG_DEFAULT that points to your ps_lang,

i don't know MySQL, and prefer not to Touch it

I can only think that some customization has been done either by a module or by 'other' means, try disabling your front office language block module from back office-->modules...

 

as for mysql, you should learn the basics of looking at your data using phpmysql, it comes in handy

Interesting , I still have a choice of languages even when i disabled English.

and the default language is Hebrew

What about the front office?. I found some time ago if I enabled a language in the back office, and then later disabled it, that employees could still choose that language in their preferences.

 

however it is also showing you these back office flags because there is existing english..translations...that should be no big deal unless when you edit a product for example the english is given and you have to select the hebrew every time...typically however ps will remember what language you were working on last time and present that.
