jhnstcks
You need to upload the settings.inc.php file from the original download of prestashop, creating the file and just uploading a blank version wont work as there is specific code in the file that prestashop needs to operate correctly.Need to upload it to the config folder aswell. jhnstcks
Why not just download prestas again?I cant upload mine because it is specific to my sites, you need the generic one that comes with the download.
jon
i've re-download it but it is not included...thanks again!
spott
This file is generated by installer. So this is not included to downloaded packages. For this, that Your webserver can create this file - You need to have permissions for that. Usually it is 777, but some hosting providers allowing only 755 permissions. When its higher, then it is like security risk and you can't create files there. So - we need more information - what error exactly installer gives. And check, that You have chosen Install - not Upgrade option!
jon
Hi @spot,I've tried to change permissions(777, 755 or 666), but it doesn't work...i enclose a picture of the second step on the instalation,(it gaves me an error on optional settings). On the third step, the error text is the following one:"Can't create settings file, if /config/settings.inc.php exists, please give the public write permissions to this file, else please create a file named settings.inc.php in config directory."thanks a lot for your help!!jon
