No admin panel, no website

Recommended Posts

Hi maconI,

Thanks for the reply.

It may well be that we have not uploaded the css file, however I am unable to check. Originally the prestashop default theme had been installed on our site. We installed the new theme and this is what has happened as a result. I cannot now access the prestashop control panel in order to re-upload the prestashop zip folder. It just looks as it does in the attachment and has no functionality whatsoever.

hi

you can log in on your hosting or with an ftp programm to check this one

not needed to log in in your prestashop

the best way is to log in on your hosting and go to your folders

or what you also can do is with an ftp programm check for your files

or if your hosting alows

you can use in your webbrowser : ftp://ftp.YOURDOMAIN.COM

log in with your hosting account

you can try also with this to import manual this theme with an ftp programm or what i said via your webbrowser

but not all hostings lalow this last one

Hi again,

Though there seems to be a problem with the page, I have got to the point where I can attempt to install the Template Installer:

Modules > Administration > Import/Export a Theme > Configue.

I can only get as far as 'Configure' until I get an error:

Oops! Google Chrome could not find psadmin

Does this help explain the situation in any way?

Thanks.

hi ,

i see you use chrome,

if you do the same in your IE then at the right side you see the option PAGE

choose here vieuw this page in windows explorer

or the easy way

go to start

look for my network locations

click on this

choos on the leftside

add network

,

fill in ftp://ftp.YOURDOMAINNAME.COM

log in with your hosting accounts and the ftp will work the same as your windows folders

very easy

then go to :

public html

prestashop

themes

your theme

see if the files the same as what you got on your computer

if not then copy everything to your themes folder

\edit":

another try to fix your shop is

copy the prestatheme from your hosting to your computer.

on your hosting :

delete the new theme "hover style"

after this rename the theme prestashop in the theme hover style or what name this theme uses

this will give you also your shop back

then upload the prestashop theme to your hosting chmod the neccassery files

then go to your prestashop admin then preferences - appearance and choose your original prestashop theme

delete the fake theme hover style

then what you can do is install the theme hover style manual

unzip all the files and upload it to your prestashop

modules to modules

theme to theme etc

when it is ok there is also an manual included in the theme how to install this one manual

Hello all, thank you for the assistance. Please make sure you always back up your database and files before you change themes. If you can, use maconI's suggestion. Reinstall the theme but through FTP. I suggest FileZilla. You can copy all the files and folders into the Themes Folder in the root Directory. The Deafult PrestaShop theme is named "prestashop" inside the "Theme" parent folder. Make sure that you do not put your new theme folders inside of "prestashop". Instead just copy it into the "Themes" folder in the root directory. Thank you for choosing PrestaShop!

hi , it is not that difficult

like Benjamin said with an ftp programm <Filezilla or an other ftp programm> or how i told you in post #7

log in with the ftp or network on your hosting

if the theme is in a zipfile , unzip this one first

i don't know which files you find in your theme package

but it is possible you find some folders something like

themes

modules

en perhaps some more

it is neccessary that the right files comes into the right folders !

upload these folders to your prestashop

you can also choose to upload your theme folder into the folder themes

and the modules to the folder modules

but be sure that you not put from your theme folder the folder modules in modules this will not work

chmod the right folders and files

/themes/prestashop/lang

/themes/prestashop/cache

/modules - Subfolders (mail) (NOTE : Subfolders chmod only neccassery if it is an mail folder)

when it is ok there is also an file included in your theme package how to install manual
