jpMEE Posted September 18, 2012 Share Posted September 18, 2012 hi i am trying to insall presta shop on website... i already had but had trouble with it, i told my hoster to remove everything and install the new version now i am stuck with this step 3 i tried and tried and tried, checked forums for help but still not working.... this i what i entered... i used cpanel X this is the error i am getting Database server was not found. Please verify the login, password and server fields Database server name: Database name: Database login: Database password: Database Engine: InnoDB MyISAM PrestaShop database tables prefix: Database server was not found. completepresta Posted September 24, 2012 Share Posted September 24, 2012 I had the same problem and the fix In my case there was a folder _notes created in smarty/compile and smartyv2/compile/ after removing this files the installation resumed. To check what causes the installation getting stuck use firefox and install firebug.
