How can I set up creating a custom URL to a page for a module?

I've created a gallery module as a separate page. In order for module to work, I need to do two things:

 

1. Go to Preferences > SEO&URL'S and add an entry there.

2. Go to Modules > Menu and add an entry there.

 

Is there a way to do this during an installation or must the user read the instructions and do this manually?
