Imposible to upgrade, to restore a database

Recommended Posts

And this is not something new, it`s happening every time a new version comes out.

STEP 1 :

Try to upgrade, normally, and fails, something is wrong

STEP 2 :

Do a clean install and try to move you products - IMPOSSIBLE.

Even STEP 3 Fails.

I upgraded to 1.5.0.17, saved a backup, and performed a clean install.

Then the only think is to drop everything and load the new database, right ? NO

The back office is a white page

And i try to normally upgrade, one column at a time, but it`s impossible too.

If i export only ps_manufacturer ps_manufacturer_lang, and import, it loads correctly.

But if i want to export ps_product and ps_product_lang it will not work, because they need also 4732 other tables, that i don`t have a clue what they need.

And if i import all of them, i will have the white screen again.

So why don`t you make a more simple export.

Something like :

EXPORT PRODUCTS and CATEGORY and PHOTOS AND MANUFACUTRER AND SUPLIER , and it will export only the 48 sql tables that are necessary for products to load correctly.

It`s 2 AM Sunday and on Monday i will get fired if i will not find a solution, to fix this impossible puzzle

Just separate the settings, modules, technical stuff from the simple stuff.

Shopping Carts :Load page, but all shopping carts are 0 $ and no products

Orders : all orders, but when i click and go inside, no css

Hi there,

what exactly are you trying to do? Did I undestand you right? You wan to make an upgrade from an earlier shop and as this failed you try to import the products manually?

To debug maybe the way to go is.

1. Download and extract latest prestashop

2. Make a copy of the orinigial database

3. Copy the config/settings.inc.php to the new installation config folder

4. Navigate to http://yourpage/install/upgrade/upgrade.php

5. Look where errors occur and try to fix.(All sql files are located in installl/upgrade/sql if you have to change something)

6. If the attempt is successfull copy pictures, mordules mails etc. to the new installation

If something fails look also into apache error log. It is basically not rocket science what is happening during an upgrade so try to

find out why it fails.

Good luck, trip
