Can PrestaShop handle store w/ over 70K inventory?

I have a store with inventory close to 80,000 SKUs and I'm thinking about changing the shopping cart because current one is really slow with all the inventory.

Prestashop is one of the option that I am considering but I like to know if Prestashop can handle that much of inventory?

Any advice will be really appreciated.

Well if it helps any that Office Depot is using Prestashop from what I have asked about already because my shop is fairly large as well and I have not ran into major issues with the software. Just hope your server is up there

I suggest getting a better understanding of native PS management of prices,discounts vouchers at product/category level.

 

Then you will know what modules or custom code you will need to enhance PS native features to support your product catalog.

I have some clients with similar (and larger) inventories. Prestashop will handle the inventory without a problem.

 

The important issues are hardware (you will definetely need a dedicated server) and operational (e.g. bulk modifications: are you prepared to add 80,000 attachments manually), most of which can be solved with a custom modification/module, as El Patron already suggested. Sadly there are a lot of such PS operations, designed as if the merchant would be entering just a few items manually so data entry/inventory modification can be really costly. If you are not a developer or familiar with the code base get yourself a good developer at the start, or enroll to a PS support package, though that will not give you custom modifications.
