lororey
Hello! Guys! After hours and hours of trying to upgrade my new shop to the PrestaShop 1.5.0.17 latest version, I managed to do it a last without any errors... many steps to do this and I will write the adventures I went through the upgrade... from backing up shop and Database and dropping and erasing the database tables... to creating same database tables and uploading clean files I manage to be up an running on back office which to me is more important after the install... making sure all modules and settings and the configuration works despite the front office displaying all images and blocks anywhere like a salad. So once I check back office was almost 100% as I had it before in my older version shop; I wanted to used the default 1.5 version theme and base my new themes from that as it is fresh and has all new features. Well the headaches started after trying to just copy the default them... renamed it to "something new" all this in my local computer then after I uploaded to the remote host via FTP but after the upload the new "something new" Theme was not displayed on the themes section under the PREFERENCES TAB... so theme appearance section only displays the old themes and the default from 1.5 but not the recently uploaded....So to make Long Story = Short; I Click on ADD NEW Button and on the next screen options Just type as follows to make your custom theme based on the "DEFAULT" one to appear on the list and you can now enable it...So it goes like this: on box one type the name of your new custom theme ei: "something new" on second box just type the themes directory which is "something new" of-course on third box just select " default " as this is the default directory you have created your custom theme from and has the original files. Saved and now you have your new Custom Theme activated and ready to be modified on the look by css and your new modules. I hope it works for all and the ones That already Know this...Sheers! My PrestaShop site is at www.athleto.com there click on "store" to see my custom theme.
