botc
Dear Prestashop fellows.I have been working more than 150 hours to get my prestashop ready, and keeps running in to un-explanble errors. Im this close to give it all up No emails being send out to costumer:Today I wanted to finaly get the translation done with the emails, and I have changed only the static english words direct in the html file. It was almost done - uploaded and running, as I noticed that I forgot to delete "power by prestashop" in the confirmation email. So I simply deleted the line, just like I have done in so many others email-files and uploaded it again. Since that little change, no emails are beeing send out from my prestashop. I used the same email-editor as just 5 mins before the last little change, and my shop worked at that time just like it should. How can a such little change cause such a fatal error?!I now some hours later deleted all files in the mail folder, and re-uploaded the originals which of couse was in english and had to be translated once again. - I just wanted to get the mail back on track. Guess what, its still not working. Anyone got an idea whats happening? Please?!
Masino Sinaga
Have you tried to restore again all of the original files (backup first your newest files)? What's the result?

botc
How do I smartest restore all files in my shop? Overwrite or remove all files from the folders, and opload the orginials?I checked filepermissions and was just like the install guide requests. I had some major problems with the pdf invoices, each time uploading any change caused it to crash too. Anyhow I could secure that it will work as now after restoring? Masino Sinaga
How do I smartest restore all files in my shop? Overwrite or remove all files from the folders, and opload the orginials? The quickest and smartest way is to replace or overwrite all files with the original files. Warning: Before doing this, please... please... please... do not forget to backup first your newest files in order you can compare then after restoring process complete. botc
I made a restore with lastest backup that worked with emails, and did't replace any of the pdf-files, since it made so many trouble last time. This restore how ever cause a lot errors - and no emails, so im now back to the "newest version" with the same old problem. Shall I try to upload the files back from the installation, deleting my custom theme and translation? And then try to install theme, payment-module and translation from scratch? Masino Sinaga
Shall I try to upload the files back from the installation, deleting my custom theme and translation? And then try to install theme, payment-module and translation from scratch? Yes. Try the clean install from stratch, then each time after you install additional theme, payment-module, translation, or even modify some code, make sure there is no error happening. This is the best way to trace which file that generate error. In addition, you can compare each time after you update the new script with the original script. Good luck. botc
Thanks, I could need some luck But how can this happen? If this is "a normal risk when uploading something" in Prestashop, I dont need to spend more time on this - its too unstabile for a live shop (who all the time make changes to improve business)One thing is that when you upload something which cause an error, but if the old file replaces the new one, the error should be gone in my eyes. (especially when we are talking a simple html-email file!)

botc
One more question before I start almost start all over. Do I need to copy the old settings.inc.php to the new clean setup? - since im not running the install-function, but only restoring the files on the server. botc
I hope you still have time to help, since a clean shop didn't fix the problem totaly!I used the old settings.inc.php but else everything was restored. Now emails are beeing sent out, how ever not allways! I made a second ordre for one of my test accounts, and order confirmation mail wasn't send out! I then added a comment to the order (from BO), and 3 sec. later the testmail recieved that comment. So it looks like its not working 100%! Please help, I dont want to start over with an other e-commerce system!I havn't changed the mails yet, so they are the orginals.
