Martin C
I have installed the 1.5.0.17 version on my host and on Wamp locally . In wamp everything is working correctly and i can make an order. On the remote host (VPS) the product is added to the cart but after a refresh from the browser the cart is empty also clicking on the cart link the cart is emptied? What can cause this issue? For testing i even chmode the files and directories to 777 (yes i know this is an issue but this site is only for testing) Edited September 14, 2012 by Martin Crielaard (see edit history)

AFemaleProdigy
I had the same issue. Clearing the browser cookies and cache fixed the problem. Note: I closed the browser window that I had the store open in first. Also note: SHIFT+refresh did not work. You have to use the history delete tool in the browser. Oh, and I also turned on Force Compile before I tried to load the site after clearing the history. Not sure if that matters, but something to try if you can't get it to work. shunkashuto1996
I am having the same issue. I was able to keep items in my cart after deleting cookies. However, no customer will wish to take this cumbersome step before shopping on my (or anyone else's) site; this renders any such site fairly useless as an e-commerce tool. Has anybody found a way to fix this problem?
AFemaleProdigy
I am having the same issue. I was able to keep items in my cart after deleting cookies. However, no customer will wish to take this cumbersome step before shopping on my (or anyone else's) site; this renders any such site fairly useless as an e-commerce tool. Has anybody found a way to fix this problem? I don't think that would be an issue for all customers. It seems that the issue occurs when something has changed with the data that is temporarily stored on the viewers browser in comparison to what is on the website. So the problem would probably only happen to customers who have that invalid data stored on their computer. Usually that would be someone who visited recently before the change and then try to come back (like yourself). Brand new customers shouldn't have a problem as their browser will be getting the correct data the first time. For previous viewers, I think it will vary depending on their browser settings. Each person that has the problem should only have to go through clearing cache/cookies once. I sometimes have a section in my FAQ that tells them how to fix that if they are having issues. Problems like this are common with websites that use cookies, cache, and other data that is stored on the viewers computer.

Martin C
Well it is solved the problem for me , if you still have problems then the best is not to reply to this thread but instead it is wise to report a bug at the forge. The forge can be found at http://forge.prestashop.com In this case the devolpers can investigate the problem, if you have a local installation the guys can take over you pc with teamviewer. NewLizard
HI I had the same problem, so I checked via Private Browsing in Firefox, and it was working...so it sure was a cache problem..Cross checked delete history options.. You have to select : offline website data (in firefox) Clear data from hosted apps (in chrome) when you are clearing history/cache. It did this for me Hope it helps.. Thanks --------------------- My Prestashop version : Prestashop 1.5.2 Error was : Shopping cart is Empty even after adding products

Hello, I am running 1.5.4.1 fresh install, and made oscommerce migration. Runned a lot of topics talking about this problem which I have too. I tried to desactivate this morning Ajax cart, I don't know if it's the good solution, let's wait and see. The point is that the most of solution I've read is about let the people empty their cache on their browser. Customers has no patience or free time to make this tricks they just need to visit the website, make a cart and order. I think clearing the cache is not a professionnal solution.
