jonathan7799
Hi,I want to use PrestaShop to list thousands of products, but actually, I don't want people to be able to buy online, but fill out an enquiry form instead (as the products I will be selling have to be customised). It is unusual that people will by more than one product, so using the basket as an enquiry basket is not really required and I would like to simplify the user journey as much as possible.I know this is a little unusual, but:a) is it easy to switch off the shopping cart function? can I easily add a form to every product page that PrestaShop will communicate the product to once the form is submitted? Many Thanks,Jonathan

jonathan7799
Not quite,I want to avoid the sales process completely.I just want a simple form on each product page, so that customers can get a quote. The form will have to know what product is being viewed, but I don't think it will be difficult to pass an ID number to it.J.
DOSPLUS
There is a module I came around in the forum that puts a link in th eproduct form to just inquire about it...Something like : About this productSorry I do not remeber where , i think it is in the module list post
youbiquitous
I believe this might be the module DOSPLUS was referring to. You'd still have to go through your template files to remove the "Add to cart" buttons, etc. Though I would think what DOSPLUS has done for his site is really quite close to what you're looking for. Repurposing the Cart as a way to request information rather than turning it off seems an elegant (though perhaps non-trivial) way to do what you're after. youbiquitous
I should also have mentioned that you can turn off the cart simply by uninstalling the Cart Block module. Go to the Modules tab then scroll down to the Blocks modules, uninstall Cart. I don't know of any way to turn off the "add to cart" buttons other than editing the product templates. DOSPLUS
Yep !That is a bit what I was saying, though my cart, once the client presses com allows the clien to input amount of guest, location, as well as inserting a per products comments and date required,etc... all in a non invasive way I think! Mike Kranzler
I should also have mentioned that you can turn off the cart simply by uninstalling the Cart Block module. Go to the Modules tab then scroll down to the Blocks modules, uninstall Cart. I don't know of any way to turn off the "add to cart" buttons other than editing the product templates. You can turn off "Add to cart" through your Back Office by going to Preferences > Products and enabling Catalog Mode. I hope this helps. -Mike
