Product images loose quality in Prestashop

Hi,

 

I have a brand for colourful socks and use Prestashop for e-commerce. Good quality and vibrant colours are everything to me and my brand.

 

I'm having a lot of trouble with the product images in Prestashop - as soon as I upload the image that scales into different sizes automatically - the image quality comes out very poor compared to the original image.

 

I've read about several others having the same problem and I'm hoping that there is a solution to this - otherwise I simply have to change to another platform.

But why? My best advice is to upgrade to the latest version of Prestashop.

Because I have a lot of customization on my site and right now I can't afford to do the update since it would take a long time considering this is no standard-site. I don't think the Prestashop version is the problem, I see threds with people using later versions with exactly the same problem.

 

Any ideas on what might be causing it?
