Rhobur
Hi, During the last 2 years since I am using PS I have changed almost all product pictures. Nevertheless the old pictures are still kept in the img folder making it grow in size and possibly slowing some operations. Is there any quick way of cleaning this folder of the non necessary images ? Manually seems so tedious! Regards, SOLVED: by manually deleting them . Imagine that, considering I have 3 sites corresponding to each language. Edited September 5, 2012 by Caprice (see edit history)
shacker
what do you mean with old images?
Rhobur
There are older versions of the product images which I don't use anymore but they are left in the img/p folder either in the img/p root or the img/p subdirectories. It seems that after deleting a product image from the BO it doesn't get deleted from the system file too.
shacker
if you regenerate all images the old are keeped?
Rhobur
Yes, apparently they are! Maybe this is related to the fact that if I regenerate them I have to do it about 10 times until I can regenerate them all because of the server's timeout.
