elduderino
What files can I safely edit in prestashop? I've adited a .tpl file to add a heading. Is this ok or is this going to cause me problems when I upgrade? Can anyone outline what I can and cannot edit. I've noticed that core module files contain a message telling me to not edit. I really want to edit the output of the Specials block as for some reason the image and the price are output in two different list items....which doesn't make much sense. I can see where I would edit the module to fix the problem but I know it's not good to edit core files. Thanks Edited August 30, 2012 by elduderino (see edit history)
vekia
You can override .tpl files in template directory without any fear
elduderino
Hi Vekia, I've read about module and template overriding here: http://www.prestadb.com/prestashop-module-overrides-tutorial/ I'm thinking that any editing of core files/modules will be lost when upgrading. The only safe way to edit prestashop functionality is to override modules
