Block Categories - restrict category list

Is it possible to restrict the listing of categories in the block categories module?

What I need to achieve is to have two drop down menus - with some of the root categories in one and some in another?

 

Can this be done using $id_category?

 

EDIT: I can add an if statement into the foreach loop in the tpl and select which category IDs I want to include.
