Shipping cost problem

I dont know why but if someone tries to buy something,the total shipping cost just goes into random prices.

 

For example when i added a product into my cart, it said the total shipping cost is £5.50. Why is this? The delivery cost should be 0.50p

If you have set your own shipping carrier and not used a module you most likely have gaps in your weight ranges causing an out of range behavior.

 

 

WRONG

0 - 1lb

1.1 - 2lb

2.1 - 3lb

3.1 - 4lb

 

Correct

0 - 1lb

1 - 2lb

2 - 3lb

3 - 4lb

4 - 5lb

 

Weight ranges are inclusive/exlusive which basically means:

 

From and including value 1, up to but excluding value 2, from and including value 2, up to but excluding value 3.

 

By having these gaps you will actually be excludeing all of your products from any of the weight ranges resulting in an error.
