One more here: database problem

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I'm trying to switch to prestashop from Opencart but I'm experiencing difficulties with mySQL.

I basically need to simply configure a database, but I don't know how to do it. I tried creating a new database through cPanel > MySQL but according to the prestashop set-up it doesn't work. Should I choose "remote mySQL database"?

After reading a bit on here, I contacted my host (www.affordablehoster.com) and his reply was basically that he didn't know anything about databases so my best bet is asking here.

What's wrong?

(As an attachment my cpanel screen prints)

I am really looking forward to making the transition to Prestashop so I hope you guys could help me out.

Michael

What you exactly want? You've got problems with installation prestashop or what?

You must have got:

1) existing database in mysql

2) user with privileges to use and edit database

if you've got both, in installation process input correct values in correct fields
