DawgOnItDuds
I have read through the forum posts, asked questions and even tried to contact PrestaShop directly with no replies...It would appear that I'm not the first to have the install get stuck at Step 3 - System Configuration. I have ensured that all requirements are met - running on Windows IIS server. The system finds the database, sends the email but won't go any further with the install. There is only so much time I will spend on this before moving on to another shopping cart. Anyones help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Kelly

DawgOnItDuds
Thanks for the replies...yes there are many others on here with the same problem, but a solution never offered. I didn't take the time to run this on my local computer as there was no point in wasting the time if it wasn't going to work when hosted. I am using version 1.1.Thanks,Kelly
Psychodays
I've tried several ecommerce platforms, and prestashop is the one you think about. It is easier to use than Magento (which definitely is not suited for small shoppers like us), and much better than oscommerce. The drawback is you have to dive into to make it work .We are here to try to help.Installing XAMPP and Prestashop won't take you more than 1 hour, worth the try though. Keep in mind that solutioning your pb may benefit to others.First check out this wiki about requirement of your system (roughly, php5 enabled, GD library enabled, you should CHMOD some folder before installing) http://www.prestashop.com/wiki/Installing_And_Updating_PrestaShop_Software/#System_Requirements
San Diego
i gave you a solutionwww.one.commaybe you check out the difference, it is not a ps problem it is a server problem.magento for example doesn´t run on one.com serverssd
DawgOnItDuds
Hi San Diego:Sorry, I missed the reference to one.com at the bottom of your post. Changing hosting providers is not an option that I want to consider just to run PS. I'm hoping there is a solution outside of that. Thanks for the thought though.Kelly

Psychodays
Try to upload in binary mode with your ftp and make a reinstall to see if it's ok.
DawgOnItDuds
Thanks...I am trying that as we speak. I had uploaded in PASV mode last time. I will be back in touch if I still have no luck. Thanks,Kelly
DawgOnItDuds
So...I have spent the last few hours re uploading the files through FTP in Binary mode as was suggested. I modified the permissions as I was supposed to and then tried to install again (using Firefox with cache & cookies cleared).I ran into the same exact problem. It gets to step 3, sees the database, sends a test email then won't go any further. This time the status bar seemed to load a bit longer so I thought I might be successful, but no.Any other thoughts? Thanks,Kelly
San Diego
depents on your server, did it ask you that the database allready exist, than change the ps_ to ??and is binary code than the same as no passive mode?i still think your php version or mysql on the server don´t match. do you have all marked ok in step 1sd
