Many strange 404 not found errors

I've been noticing some strange 404 page not found errors coming through in Google Webmaster Tools that have nothing to do with my site. Example: entmp/configs/page.php?k=2001-ford-taurus-belt-pattern .This morning up to more than 200. I wonder what is happening. Is there some hackware inside my site, or on another site that is looking for pages that do not exist.

It looks like someone is trying to get into your site. Make sure you change your passwords and secure the site.

Hello markjl, this could mean that a hacker or spybot is trying to access your site and your data. It is a good idea to change your passwords, make sure that your admin passwords are strong and contain upper and lowercase letters, numeric, and special characters.

I found this site http://www.webandsite.com/ in the Linked From section of WMT. My feeling is that to generate their web reports, they fire lots of crap at the site.

 

I've also found a number of Polish sites as originators built or hosted by the same web agency.
