importing product data as csv

I have trouble when importing product data into prestashop.

 

I can import a csv file with my product data, specially focused on short description and description (long), where both of them have a limited character count to import.

 

Well, short description actually has a character limit of 400 set with my installation, although i was able to import more than 400 character. The error occurs, when i want to update the product, where i get an errror saying that the short description exceeds it's size of 400, current over 700 character. So i'm not able to save this product.

 

At this point, i encounter something strange - which seems to be a bug for me. The short description and description text are also been imported to the other languages active. Before i knew this, i just imported the csv again after shortening the text to 400 character, which just worked find. At this stage, i found that the Text for the other languages are still there over sized. That was confusing.

 

Finally, it seems i have only one options, update all products (over 600) to remove the short description and description for the wrongly imported languages.

 

Does anyone have the same problem and how did you overcome this?

Does anyone know how i can import i.e. german and french short descriptions and descriptions separat or at the same time?
