Andrew H
Hello I'm probably the only person left running version 1.1 3 or 4 years ago I upgraded from version 1.0 with lots of issues so has put me off doing it ever since. Now I feel it's long overdue... and PS has moved on a lot since then (not to mention the security need to do this). To make the process less risky I plan on setting up a clean-install store V1.5 once it's ready. My question is about the database... Is there anything I will need to do to ensure the database transfers without too much hassle from 1.1 to 1.5? I plan to duplicate the DB and then make the new site live once everything's ready. Will the images in the database transfer ok? I remember trying this once before without a lot of success but now I don't really have much choice so any advice is appreciated. thanks Andrew
GaryG
I transfered from an old database too 1.2 up to the current. I had to do it manually and move files around to make the new PS work correctly. Really not to hard if you are familiar with where directories should be. Make sure you back up the old database and move your images over to the new one. There is a manual that shows you step by step on this site. The only issue was your modules wont work or wont show up and will have to increase your php memory to 128 because the old PS only needed 64. Here is the link to the guide. You'll have to follow the manual upgrade instructions because the old versions do not have the automatic update installed. http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS14/Updating+PrestaShop Edited August 18, 2012 by GaryG (see edit history)
