Fitness Fashions
Whenever the categories and products are being loaded the cpu is spiking 97%to 100% ? Can you tell me why this would happen? Could it be that I have too many items in tracking ?? Lisa M
MEG Venture
Are you talking about the CPU of your PC or CPU of your server?

Dh42
Tell us more about your store and hosting. Who is hosting your site and what plan are you on? Also how many products and unquies are you having every day? Things like that mater with shopping cart software.

Fitness Fashions
we have 461 items and 4000 variances and not a ton of traffic about 200 people a day. the hosting service is a shared ip address and 10 people share it. I know its a linux server. Trevnetmedia.com is my server They said my site is spiking the system everyday when categories and items are queried. I had 4400 items in tracking and deleted 3000 items from there today. Tracking was really slow to load. My developer has told me that anything he had done to the site was not a major deal to prestashop. The other big spike was everyday when 'google shopping ' looks at every item on the site for them at 3 am in the morning , we have 482 lines of code for the feed. Trevnet media said this should not happen even if we are much busier and have 20,000 items, I dont know prestashops limitations. my url is www.fitnessfashions.com lisam
Fitness Fashions
this is for super charlie tracking is tab in the catalog where you can check on items with problems such as items with no attributes, deactivated items . This can help you with the need to delete items sold out or reorder them! my tech guy did a auto download and added tons of items to my tracking (they were all deactived and ended up in tracking)
Dh42
More than likely they have you on a shared server. How much are you paying month for your web hosting? (and by shared server I mean they are using a reseller account, and they have you on that, so many more sites are hosted on the machine than you think) I was talking to another developer tonight about sizing a server for a store that one of my clients has. They have 24 products and do about 10k page views a week, with 4k in sales a week. I am about to put them on a vps server and it should work out fine for them. From what I am getting did the trevnet company make your website or are they just handling the hosting? I would switch the site over to a company where you can handle the hosting yourself, I recommend webhostingbuzz.com . Also, because prestashop is pretty lax about security, I am sending you a pm about your site, it has a security hole.

MEG Venture
I experienced the same problem with my hosting webshostinghub and at the end we decided to switch a non-shared Prestashop hosting. Your spikes seem much more than mine Here is the thread I opened recently on that subject: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/179892-prestashop-hosting-problems-on-webhostinghub-need-advice/page__p__887952?do=findComment&comment=887952 If you need a new hosting service, I can suggest you my new one in PM.
