mkdave
Sorry if this problem has been discussed many times but I haven't been able to find a reference to it. I am new to Prestashop and the various modules but have managed to find my way around, sort of. On my site I have installed the Paypal module available to me which is v2.8.7. Problem is when I checked as far as I could, I didn't have a problem. When I asked someone to do a test purchase for me they couldn't get past the Instant Checkout details page as it came back with an error There is 1 error : Zip/ Postal code is invalid. Must be typed as follows: AA0 0AA My Post code is MK7 7NZ which matches the format required above and is accepted My sons post code is MK13 3DC or something like and has an extra digit which is rejected. Please bear in mind I am new to this and am not a computer geek. Is there a simple solution so that it will accept the additional digit. Your help would be greatly appreciated. mkdave
Thanks for the response shacker. For me this is an absolute showstopper, if I cannot find a solution then the weeks I have spent populating Prestashop are wasted. I must admit I find it strange that no one else is having the same problem. My setup is Hosting - Vidahost - through them and using Softaculus loaded Prestashop v1,4,8.3 and the paypal module Paypal module v2.8.7 I was made redundant as an engineer and so all of this is new to me, and working on a small budget this seemed an easy solution for putting up a shop. Your suggestion to try an earlier version of the Paypal module is a good one, I would now ask if there is anyone who can point me to somewhere where I can download a free complete module, as I think I can work out how to put a complete module in the filemanager of my cPanel. Your help would be greatly appreciated, but unfortunately instructions have to be very simple as the terminology is like a different language. Best regards and thanks for any help anyone can give me Dave Edited August 18, 2012 by mkdave (see edit history)
mkdave
I am desperately trying to resolve this problem as my shopping site is currently useless. I have changed the Paypal module to v3.0.9 - same result will still not accept the longer post code. I now believe the problem is with Prestashop not the paypal module, as I tried to enter a customers details in the Customers section - same result. shokinro
If you suspect the issue with PrestaShop 1.4.8.3, you can download a previous version PrestaShop 1.4.8.2 to see if the result is the same. If it works there, then you can use the previous version. Also you may have a try to use my Agile Paypal Express Checkout module. It has many other features like Express Checkout, customer does not need to register at your store before and go Paypal payment directly. And the module will automatically create customer account after payment is done. You find more details of this module in this thread http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/77195-module-agile-paypal-prestashop-paypal
