MrBaseball34
Has anyone done an ExpressionEngine/Prestashop integration? We sorely need to replace Magento and since I have used PS before, I may try to integrate with our ExpressionEngine site. Basically, we use EE for all the content, including storing a list of education courses and publications that we offer. We currently use Magento to handle the checkout process for bot the course and publication purchases. So essentially, we are only using the checkout functionality of Magento, which is totally overkill, in my informed opinion. We need to use only the checkout portion of Prestashop. Can this be "de-coupled" from the PS frontend to be used elsewhere? Any ideas on where to begin or other ideas as to how to fix this, even if it means using another cart product? outre99
I'd also like to hear from experienced PS developers on this topic. Essentially CMS functionality in PS is limited, which means that another CMS will need to be used. However, the whole point of the content is to help sell more products. So categories, product lists, and products need to be featured in the content articles and linked to PS product pages to facilitate the actual purchase. It's a content -> shop -> buy funnel. Additionally a user's account login state needs to be preserved across CMS and PS. I'm thinking that the best way is to use PS account management controls across the entire site. It should show the users login state, user's cart, account, and checkout links. Is it possible to use PS modules in an external CMS? Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated. Alternatively, if that's not possible, is there a way to create multiple templates for CMS pages in order to expand PS CMS functionality?
