GaryB
I made modifications to "awaiting cheque payment" making it "awaiting furikae payment" for the situation in Japan, but now I have lost track of what file I made the change in. It doesn't show up in translations anywhere, so it must be in a php or js or tpl that doesn't show up in translations, I assume. So anyone, someone please tell me what file(s) would contain "awaiting.... payment" as well as the other detail relating what shows on the order history page. GaryB
P.S. To avoid confusing anyone, please note that in my posting above, the second screenshot with the list of messages that can post in "Order History" is from my Back Office, under "Orders." Below is an fuller screenshot with a different selection.
belladict
Why didn't you make the translation from the BO in Orders >> Order Statuses? It's a lot easier than having to edit the core files, it avoids any mess.
GaryB
Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. In finding again where to do this, I see it's actually where I did make the original changes, but forgot how to find it. Interestingly, the translations of various order statuses from the original do not appear under Tools >> Translations >> Back Office translations as one might expect, so that's why I couldn't find them.I agree, it's best not to edit the core files, but since Japanese is structured so differently from Western languages, there are elements of PrestaShop that need more flexibility and must be edited in core files in order to be able to adapt to Asian language conventions (for example, the address formatting that is set for France, but is an important issue to solve in order to be adjustable to Japanese standards, as well as many other countries mentioned elsewhere in these forums -- I have had to make changes in multiple address files, but am getting a partial solution, at least). Nevertheless, being a total non-programmer previous to this, stepping into php and tpl when necessary has been a relatively easy learning experience, and I continue to be excited about the future of PrestaShop for small to medium-sized businesses.
