crpparts
I just installed and am customizing my shop and adding products and it going pretty well but I cant seem to figure out why I have a handful of "broken links" or how to fix the problem. The ones that I have noticed and cannot get to work are the "your account," "log in," the "all new products" in the new products block and the "cart" links. I'm sure its something simple but I am pretty new to this and I have spent all day trying to figure it out and searching for the answer with no luck so its time to ask for help...... sooo HELP
El Patron
What version of PrestaShop? Are you using the native PrestaShop template or another template? Also are you running with friendly url's and can you post a link to your site? Edited August 13, 2012 by elpatron (see edit history)

benjamin utterback
Hello crpparts, Welcome to the PrestaShop forums, we are happy to have you with us. As for your issue today, do you know when the problem started happening? Have you tried turning friendly URL's off and regenerating your HTAccess file. It seems like this could be a server configuration error, as it is an issue with a brand new install. Who is your hosting provider? -Benjamin
crpparts
I dont think it ever worked after installing it on friday of last week, the site is hosted by godaddy and I have tried regenerating the HTaccess file but that doesn't necessarily mean I didn't do it incorrectly. crpparts
Well isnt that interesting I just went and unchecked the check box for friendly urls and rechecked it and regenerated the htaccess file and it works..... I have regenerated that file about 30 times but never unchecked the friendly url box. Apparently that made the difference because it works as it should now...

benjamin utterback
Yes, congrats on the solve. Now please switch hosting providers before it's too late. GoDaddy is arggghhhh, switch to Bluehost. Same price, less hassle, less downtime, more $$ www.bluehost.com/prestashop

Same price, less hassle, less downtime, more $$ www.bluehost.com/prestashop jajajajaj...as an Arizona native....I say go GoDaddy!....they don't get credit for allowing unlimited domains on a shared hosting account and made a commodity out of hosting...everyone else owes them a big thank you!....and the fix...was not a GoDaddy issue... the problem with any shared hosting...and no one is perfect...is the lack of mod_expires....if shared hosting offered this...we wouldn't need vps or dedicated for 99% of websites... benjamin utterback
elpatron, I appreciate your input. I was just voicing the opinion of the happy people who have switched from GoDaddy. I honestly find it surprising that you actually recommend GoDaddy. and there's your 50.
crpparts
thanks for the help guys very much appreciated. As far as the godaddy thing is concerned there is no way I am going to switch unless they disappear, at least for now and the only reason is that my website works and it was a lot of work getting it to that point for me. (I'm an auto tech not a web developer) However had I known there was a better option prior I would have probably done that. Only real reason I went with godaddy is because its where I have had my other site hosted since Jatol went away and I lost everything. Figured they are big enough to not go anywhere..
