Layered Navigation Module won't show beyond Page 1 when selecting sort drop down

Hi

 

I've searched for this issue & found a few others have faced them but there is no working solution yet so I really hope someone will provide one.

 

I'm on PS 1.4.7 with the Layered Navigation module installed, when I filter a search using Layered Navigation, the first page will show the relevant results but "Page 2" is not working. The url seems to be incorrect/broken and just takes me to the 404 page.

 

If I disable the layered navigation module it is not a problem however I do need the layered navigation module since my Theme uses it to display the products for category pages, if I disable the module then my category page is blank.

 

Can anyone please suggest how we can solve this.

 

I tried the solution given here, however it did not work for me.
