Keeping current on versions

hi,

 

I set up a test for my [spam-filter] and she wants to take it live. i am hosted at net firms and am getting notices to alter certain php settings. I am not a code expert and do not know php. Can we still use Prestashop? I also see that the version that is running now is not current as it was installed in November 2011 via Simple Scripts which is used by Netfirms. Are there any secret sauce elements to keeping the code current? i saw an autoupdate module post but do not know if I can use it since I did not do the install natively, it was done through Simple Scripts.

what version of prestashop was installed? if you are familiar with the back office, you can login and look at the bottom of the page to determine.

 

the auto update module might be able to be used, but it is still experimental and may not work for you.

 

have you or your [spam-filter] purchased any custom modules or themes, or is everything core prestashop?

 

perhaps you could provide the php settings that net firms provided notices for.
