moiminerals
So I *had* a designer helping me with all the technical things, now she has gone MIA. The proble is she said I was good to go live about 3wks ago and I did. The issue is that even though I have the domains pointing to the right name servers etc, host gator says that there is a hard code? or something that is still directing to the temp shop name? So when a customer tries to checkout with PayPal it just says a timed out error. I have no idea what to do to fix this so I forward the domain name to the temp store address just so customer can use the "main domain" name and still checkout with paypal. (hope I make since) so under Back OfficePreferences SEO & URLs would it be as easy as to switch the Shop domain name: that is the temp one to my dot com? tcannonxy
what do you mean by "temporary name"? Also, please clarify exactly hard code. HostGator couldnt tell you the directory where they found a bad code, but they know its there? Perhaps you have some problem with permissions, or maybe your pointing problem starts at the registrar. moiminerals
The temp address is the presta shop address, www. numbers/my shop/prestashop/ . I'm sorry I don't know anything about this. They said that its a hard code, or something like that that keeps directing the cart to this address.
tcannonxy
thats strange. my address is www.example/admin*** I believe your adress should look like this. its the SAME as your public web adress, just with /admin*** at the end of it. maybe your directory is wrong, prestashop should be in /admin*** under public_html directory. check your directory to make sure its like this, and also do a search on this forum for directory or root folder to see an example. Could also try clearing your browser cache and cookies, maybe your browser just wants to automatically send you to the site. I had a similiar problem, when I setup my directory I had the prestashop folder /admin*** under my cpanel /admin folder so to view the website i had to go to www.example.com/admin or to go to backoffice www.example.com/admin/admin*** Also check to make sure that in your backoffice, you have selected shop open. Maybe you had an error when installing prestashop, contact your host again. They should be able to help you. I have hostgator and they solved the problem for me, and they also found a config file that was giving an error. Also, check with your registrar, even if you have the dns pointing correctly from your host, it wont help unless your domain name is pointing to the host correctly from your registrar. Contact host, maybe after that you will move forward a bit because it could be a while before a prestashop "superstar" replies. And really they wont be able to help you much with the information you have provided.

moiminerals
This is the link http://50.22.80.8/~moiminer/prestashop/ , I have to use it this way with my domain names forwarded to it so customers can actually check out.
