alexafuentes
Hello guys! I'm desperate here. I don't know why but my store is so slow now. It's taking about 15 seconds to load, but the longer time is the time to first byte. I noticed this happened when I activated the GZIP compression, my store became so slow. Now the compression is off but it's still like this. I'm on Media Temple Grid Service. I talked to them but they told me it wasn't a server problem. I've already uninstalled the modules I'm not using, but I don't know what else to do. My site wasn't this slow. I don't know why it's taking so long. Please help me. Mike Kranzler
Hi Alexa, This is actually a server-side issue, so please contact your hosting provider for more information on how to fix this. -Mike
alexafuentes
Hello Mike! Like I said I already talked to them and they told me there was nothing wrong. Anything I could ask them about so they could check if there's actually a problem?
sickz
It is probably because they oversell or the outgoing connection is to slow.
alexafuentes
Hello sickz! So, what can I do? How can I make sure it's a server problem?
Mike Kranzler
Hello sickz! So, what can I do? How can I make sure it's a server problem? You can try asking them to move you to a less overloaded server. Alternatively, you can try switching to a host that works better with PrestaShop, such as BlueHost. -Mike
vero20
I've been reading some posts and they say it could have something to do with the database. Do you think that's possible?

It's possible, but that is still managed by your hosting provider. -Mike
vero20
All right. I will get in touch with them and let you know what they say. About Bluehost, will plan would be better?
sickz
Hello sickz! So, what can I do? How can I make sure it's a server problem? Well actually nothing besides switching your hoster. You should search one where the majority of your visitors come from. I also do not recommend offers like "unlimited xxx" nothing is unlimited and those hoster most time oversell. Try to find one which limits the number of customer per server.
Mike Kranzler
All right. I will get in touch with them and let you know what they say. About Bluehost, will plan would be better? I would definitely recommend BlueHost, as we have worked closely with them to ensure that their hosting meets the requirements for any and all PrestaShop users, and that their support team is familiar with the software themselves in case issues such as this crop up. -Mike
