[SOLVED] Installation won't move onto shop configuration!

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have started my PS installation and have successfully moved onto 'database configuration'.

I have verified my database settings, checked full mode installation type.

pressed the next button and it doesn't move on, after i press the next button again it tells me that

'A Prestashop database already exists, please drop it or change the prefix', but it still will not move on to the shop configuration.

What do I do to finish the installation.?

Hi amanuensis,

There are a few potential issues you could be running into here, anything from your password not following the proper format to a localization error to a permissions issue or many more possibilities, and it's difficult to identify what could be the root cause in your situation without more information. Please try the suggestions in the below threads and let us know if any of those work for you:

The issue seems to be caused by FcgidConnectTimeout apache directive giving these errors:

[Fri Jul 27 10:51:36 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 40 seconds

[Fri Jul 27 10:51:36 2012] [error] [client 193.200.80.2] Premature end of script headers: model.php, referer: http://xxxxxxx.com/prestashop/install/

any ideas please?

I have been loyal to Prestashop since v1 - can I have some help please!

Hi amanuensis,

Before anything else, please try changing the database prefix (from ps_ to ps1_ or anything else) and let us know if that works any better for you. If that doesn't work, our developers would suggest the following:

1. Double-check your server's fastCGI settings, per the first error you posted above

2. If that doesn't work, consider switching to Apache, as that is the recommended server configuration for PrestaShop

3. If neither of those work for you, please post a new report on the Forge so that our development team can try to look into this further for you.

I hope this helps.

For this to work the websites need to run as apache module, you can set this in plesk.

Apache user runs php as www-data, and the software requirements are that php needs to be able to write to specific directories.

So what I did was change the ownership of the files that need write access to the apache user "www-data".

Another way to have fixed this would be to give the group write access of the files which need to be able to write to the file system.

A big thank you to the CWCS support team for getting to the bottom of this.
