Spudz
is this how the customer referral module works?Let's say you configure it for a 10% off discount.Existing cutomer makes a purchase and this entitles then to add "friends" to their referral list.If one of these friends makes a purchase they receive 10% off, AND the referring customer is then entitled to also 10% off. And this occurs with EACH friend from their list, correct?Would the discount be applied only once? (ie, the next purchase only?)
MeenaInc
Come on TEAM MEMBERS ONLINE this particular module is not discussed ANYWHERE on the site. Please detail how this module works and how we can use it to our marketing advantage. Is the referrer's email address the voucher code? How is it tracked?Special links for people to share with friends? Thanks,MeenaInc
phoenixxinOz
Bumping this thread because I too can't work out exactly how the referral module works. I too don't understand whether BOTH people get the voucher.- EDITED: Yes, both do get the voucher. This module is very hard to test! I am a hair's breadth from uninstalling it.Am really hoping someone can answer this thread. I have read every English thread on the Referral Program, but there is no definitive statement made about HOW it actually works. ( Of course, I could be wrong, and just haven't found the documentation ;-) )EDITED AGAIN: Well, I'm about to tear my hair out here. When testing this module, by using a second email of my own, and after "ordering" with yet another email of my own ( AND marking the "order" as finalised), I try to add a friend for referral, and I keep getting the error: "Please mark at least one checkbox " There is only ONE checkbox on that page...and I did check it.( It's the "I have read the conditions of the referral program and accept them in their entirety." checkbox )I had my [spam-filter] test the Referral Program too, and he also gets the same "Please mark at least one checkbox " error.Reckon I'll just send a few business cards out to every customer with their order, and suggest they give them to friends, and just ask friends to add some "referred by" text at checkout...gotta be easier than trying to work out this module.( Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Presta! It just has some "quirks" that drive me nuts, and the Referral Program is just another one.)
