Egungon
I'm having a problem with my shopping cart/check out. The "Summary" screen is what shows first. So, if you're not logged in, it doesn't know if you're in state, or from out of state. I have to collect 6% sales tax for PA. So, if someone isn't logged in, then they can surpass the summary screen without seeing the tax included. The next screen is the "Loggin" screen. After someone logs in and makes an account, is the tax then added to their amount? I'm not sure how this works, because the tax should be showing up on the summary screen, but the website doesn't know if they're from PA until the next "Login" screen. Has anyone found a fix for this problem? Edited July 13, 2012 by Egungon (see edit history)

Mike Kranzler
Hi Egungon, Can you please post a link where we can test this for ourselves? -Mike
Egungon
You can test it here, www.techessentials.net/prestashop
Egungon
Also, the cart on the right hand side shows a different price than the price summary page.
Mike Kranzler
Hi Egungon, I created a test account and went through the cart process, but noticed that it wasn't calculating sales tax at all (I used California for my billing address). Are you sure you properly configured your taxes through the Back Office? -Mike
Egungon
I'm only collecting PA sales tax. It works for my address.

Egungon
No, only from PA.
Mike Kranzler
No, only from PA. OK, well I just created a new account with a PA address, and it did charge taxes correctly even though it skips the summary page if you login after going to Check Out. Is that the issue, or is there something else? -Mike
Egungon
When I skipped the summary page, it didn't include the sales tax. And, the cart on the right hand side is showing a different price than the summary page. The cart on the left isn't including the sales tax when the summary page is. It didn't include sales tax for you even at the very end of the transaction? It did for me, so please try clearing your browser's cookies and cache and then try it again. Additionally, its possible the cart issues are related to your custom theme, so you may want to try temporarily switching back to the default PrestaShop theme to see if the issue persists. -Mike
