CSV Image URL Troubles

Hi,

 

I'm new and I'm having trouble. When I upload a test CSV (2-3 products) for products, I can't seen to get the Image URL's to work. It keeps saying there was an "error copying the image." I uploaded the images to the server, and when I click on the URL in the CSV, the image shows up just fine in a web browser. The "p" folder IS writable (all permissions set to 777), so I don't think that's the problem.

 

I noticed that my hosting provider has their "allow_url_fopen" set to "off." Could this be why I can't upload images? And if so, anybody have any idea how i can work around it? Please tell me it doesn't involve uploading them all by hand! I have over 12,000 products!

 

Also, in a CSV, can anybody tell me how to direct the product to the category and sub-category it should be in? I tried both "Home;Category;Sub-category" and "Home, Category, Sub-Category" but both just made new categories for the products.

 

Please help! I can't go live without images, and I'd really love to go live soon.

Please, somebody help! It's been almost two weeks and I still can't go live until I have the images!
