Product Combinations and prices

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm still fairly new to Prestashop so please bear with me :-) I've looked through the forums and Google for this but can't figure it out.

I have the SVN of 1.5.0.14 installed and everything's working great, but I'm having trouble with product combination prices on the front end (both with the product listing and the layered navigation). Some of the products I sell come in two sizes (i.e. 100g and 250g bottles). The 100g is $8 (no tax), the 250g is $12 (no tax).

Obviously I want the more expensive product to be the default one, but on the product listing I'd like the price to say "from $8" rather than just saying $12. I assume I could edit the theme somewhere to add the word "from", but I'd also have to change the default product combo to the cheaper product. The other downside is that I only have a specific selection of products that I want to do this to.

Another issue I have with it is the layered navigation price slider. It's only showing a range of $10-$12, whereas I'd like the lower figure to be the cheapest product combination option possible. So if my cheapest one is $8 and my most expensive is $40, by default it should show $8 to $40.

I hope all of that makes sense, and that someone can help me. I'm pretty good with SQL but not so good with PHP or javascript, which isn't terribly handy.

Thanks for any help,

Simon
