Which payment modules actually function 100% correctly in the UK?

Recommended Posts

I have tried to get the Google Checkout system working but it only goes as far as Google Checkout it does not seem to pass the transaction back to the store.

The other options seem to be Protex and PayPal, unless you know better?

Will either of PayPal or Protex take the payment and return to the store and empty the basket and send the customer an order confirmation?

I don't fell that I can go live with a half cocked payment system.

The post you have done references a module to pay using a credit card offline.
What I am actually after is a module for a system called Payoffline
http://www.payoffline.com/

This allows someone to take a pre printed barcode to a post office and pay through their own system.
very handy for someone without a credit/debit card or Paypal account.

.. still hunting for it.

Hey Paul, back to your original point;

I am setting up a shop atm (ENG based).. I've so far got Protx (now known as sage-pay) on the go, paypal too (via paypal and via protx - although i have no idea how it works through protx as of yet). I have not tested paypal yet but I see no reason for it too faulter as many on this site use it already, and many on other platforms also.

With regards to google checkout I have been trying to test it this morning and got no-where so far. I have suspicion as to cause tho. Currently I am paying and the payment is disappearing (yet my bank ARE earmarking the money for transfer without payment). So half it is working. I am going to setup a buyers account (on google-checkout) as currently I am trying to purchase via my seller account - whethr this would cause issues or not I am unsure, but its worth a test!

So getting back to your question (once more hehe); I would say currently your 100% with Protx, 99% with paypal and google-check... well, ill try and remember to update if I get any more info but.. I'm not holding my breathe..

quick update - I've just processed a payment via Google Checkout, its all showing on the presta system ok and altho I haven't checked the card statement yet I'm a lot more confident with this. Its all integrated well..

The difference on this test was that I signed up for a G.C. buyers account, whereas when I went to purchase from my shop previously this morning, I was using the sellers account (registered to the same domain / shop / web addy)... A slight bug but seems to work ok now so...

hope this helps someone

EDIT (update): payment went through without fault :)

Hi I am in the UK and have Google Checkout working.

I didn't get it to passback the info to prestashop until I got a signed SSL certificate working for my domain as Google demanded a secure page for the callback.

Otherwise I have tested it and it works very smoothly.

I went with Google because of the Chargeback Insurance.

Obviously Paypal has the numbers but they don't offer the same guarantees, perhaps for small orders or established customers. Chargebacks are a worry.

But Google Checkout worked fine once I got the signed SSL set up with my hostsing company.

Best of Luck
