Paul Crompton
Hello everyone, One last go at trying to sort out prestashop (on my machine) Problems stem from wanting to use the new standard theme. I could not get the theme to install as a separate item on the theme page. It would try to install on the site with a resultant mess to sort out: part of one theme part of another. After the last attempt I kept the horizontal menu, well that is part of the way there. See www.fern-jewellery.co.uk Prior to this I had the shop upgraded to 1.4.7.3 as I could not use the upgrade module. I thought this might solve the problem but it didn't. Decided to upgrade to 1.4.8.2 to see if that would let me use the new theme but could not find the upgrade module. Downloaded 0.6.1 auto upgrade, loaded it and tried to install to be told the module had not installed properly (see attached screen shot) Any suggestions as to what to do from here will be very welcome. Paul Should add that all of the above has been managed on localhost on my machine Edited July 15, 2012 by Paul Crompton (see edit history)
shacker
have you upload via FTP and try to install?

Paul Crompton
No, that did not work either. Out of interest I went back to tools > upgrade and got the following message: [TECHNICAL ERROR] ajax-upgradetab.php is missing. please reinstall or reset the module Not sure if that means anything. I have reinstalled a number of times with the latest version, but not through FTP. I will try that later this evening, can't make matters worse. Added: I have just tried to delete the module for which it says, "module deleted successfully" but it is still there. Paul Crompton
sounds like a module problem in during the isntallation. You have this file? ajax-upgradetab.php I would have to say it is missing but that is said based on my ignorance of php and cms and the following: as I said above when I go to tools > upgrade tab I get the following: [TECHNICAL ERROR] ajax-upgradetab.php is missing. please reinstall or reset the module I have 1.4.8.2 installed on local host. Is it possible to copy ajax-upgradetab.php from there, (if so where will I find it?), and place it in my actual site then FTP to host, or paste direct to hosted site also. Thanks for your help. Paul Crompton
Hello, This is still an ongoing problem, now in more ways than previously mentioned, leaving me with a number of options. Into the long grass. Build an adaptive site, with php includes and linking to Mal's cart. Most things I could emulate apart from an ordered search. Find another cart. Re install Prestashop and build from scratch. Or, and here I show my lack of knowlegde of php and cms, could I back up the database, re install prestashop, upload the database and have everything appear as it should? I am not asking anyone to make a decision for me but I would appreciate guidance on the last option. Many thanks - Paul
shacker
if the error is in the database, maybe the problem persists if you replace the data. Maybe you can replace only the products table, carts, orders and clients
