spring00
Hi I've moved my prestashop from one folder to another online. I've done this before and its worked ok once I learnt to change the settings.inc.php. But this time for some weird reason I cant find the Home Text Editor in the back office. I can see the content of this module but I'm guessing its in the database somewhere. Am I right in thinking that the Home Text Editor module is called Editorial when I look at the files in the webspace? If so then it appears to be published but I cant figure out how to update the content. I guess I can try to find it in the database but I really need the module in the Back Office. Does anyone have any suggestions please? Edited July 2, 2012 by jen00 (see edit history)
Mike Kranzler
Hi jen, What version of PrestaShop are you using? Yes, the module is called Editorial in your files, but if you have it there you should also have it in your Back Office. -Mike
spring00
Hi Mike I am using version 1.4.6.2 and I am using the standard theme (I've customised it through the css) Jen
spring00
Hi Mike I dont know if this is relevant but I'm also getting the following error for the ebay module The following module(s) could not be loaded: ebay (parse error in /modules/ebay/ebay.php) ebay (class missing in /modules/ebay/ebay.php) As it happens we are not using the ebay module. I cant see it either in the Back Office to uninstall it. But I mention the error message in case it helps to figure out what's happened to the Home Text Editor. All I did was download the shop to my computer. Then upload it all to the new folder. I change the SEO & URL settings accordingly and I changed the settings.inc.php. I've done this before several times with no problems so I'm really puzzled now!
Mike Kranzler
Hi Mike I am using version 1.4.6.2 and I am using the standard theme (I've customised it through the css) Jen Just to make sure I understand you correctly, you have the home text editor module in your FTP files, but it is not available here, correct? -Mike
spring00
Hi Mike That is correct. Here is my own screenshot. Is it possible to reload the module? I've tried the 'reset' button although I dont know exactly what is does but it didnt help anyway. Thanks
Mike Kranzler
Hi Jen, Go ahead and delete the module via FTP and replace it with the version I've attached below, and let me know if that works any better for you. editorial.zip I hope this helps. -Mike
spring00
Hi Mike Thanks for the suggestion but it didnt work. I run a couple of sites with prestashop and I tried the module on another site and it worked fine. Its so odd. I can see the editorial module in the webfiles, the info is displaying properly and I've managed to update with phpmyAdmin but I really need to be able to change it in the Back Office. I even tried deleting the Editorial module with Filezilla and installing your new module. I fully expected my content to disappear but it hasn't. But I still cant see the Home Text Editor in the Back Office. I'm even more confused now! Do you have any other suggestions? Jen
Mike Kranzler
Hi Jen, Do you have a link to the site that is having these issues? And are there any differences between that site and your others, such as hosting provider or customizations? -Mike
spring00
Update! I mentioned in an earlier post that I was seeing an ebay module error message. We dont use this module but for some reason it was showing up as The following module(s) could not be loaded: ebay (parse error in /modules/ebay/ebay.php) ebay (class missing in /modules/ebay/ebay.php) This was bugging me so I just deleted the ebay module using Filezilla which removed the error message and my Home Text Editor module suddenly appeared! Thank heavens! Somehow the ebay module error was blocking it. Bizarre but I'm sharing my strange solution in case it helps someone else. Thanks Mike for all your help. Ignore my PM now!
