shipping doesn't calculate properly

I set up my shipping in oz (I sell small light items)

 

I put it like this

0-3, 4-6, 7-10, 11-13, & goes up more

 

When a few items are added it goes to the highest shipping 13.99, but if you add 1 more item to the cart it adds up correctly (back to 4.50). Did I do something wrong? Its not calculating right

The problem you have is with your weight ranges. They have gaps in them. They should look like this:

Where would something that weighed 3.5oz get its range from???

 

0 - 3

3 - 6

6 -10

10 - 13

 

Weight ranges are inclusive/exlusive which basically means:

 

From and including value 1, up to but excluding value 2, from and including value 2, up to but excluding value 3.

 

So it goes like this:

 

From and including 0, up to but excluding3oz, from and including 3oz up to but exluding 6oz, from and including 6oz up to but excluding 10oz, from and including 10oz up to but excluding 13oz. (and so on)

 

By having these gaps you have actually excluded all of your products from any of the weight ranges resulting in the error.
