Manufacturer Meta Title Issue

Ok everyone I really must ask what may be a dumb question. As I am doing the manufacturers section on my site the meta title and manuf name is like this

 

Dog Food (meta title) - Natural Balance - (my store)

 

Shouldn't it be like this

Natural Balance - Dog Food - My store?

 

I am just concerned the meta title comes before the manufacturer name. Should I not use a meta title and just combine the two into the manufacturer name and then make a separate one for cat food by same manuf.?

 

Can anyone please tell me if something is wrong and if there is please try explain to fix this issues so I can tell my web guy there's an issue or not.
