michaelvila
I'm trying to remove the state tax from being charged on shipping. I'm using 1.4.8.2. I do need the charge applied to total purchase, but NOT the shipping. My shop: www.TemptingAccessories.com Thank you
Bill Dalton
In Back Office > Shipping > Carriers and scroll down to almost the bottom of the page and change tax to N/A.
michaelvila
Thank you for responding Bill, I'm sure I have the proper setting as you can see, anything else I can check?
Bill Dalton
Change Shipping & handling: you have it set to the green check mark, change to red X.
michaelvila
If I select no shipping, then NO shipping is charged. I still want to charge shipping, I just don't want tax charged on shipping.
Bill Dalton
So ... in Back Office > Shipping > Carriers, on your Carriers setup page, you set the Tax to N/A and directly underneath that set Shipping & handling to the red X and your shipping went to zero. Is this what happened or did you set something else? I did try this on my system and it worked for me. How are you charging shipping, by weight, price or flat rate? michaelvila
I'm sorry I unselected the wrong one, but I now unselected the 'Shipping and handling' as you suggested, and still it's still charging tax on shipping. (see attached). The shipping charges come from a range I specified: 0-25=$3 25-50=$5 etc. Edited June 25, 2012 by michaelvila (see edit history)
Bill Dalton
OK, so you set up a "Price Range". Please go back to Back Office > Shipping > Carriers, on your Carriers setup page, and set "Billing" to "According to price". And with all of the above let me know if that does it. michaelvila
Done, but no change.
Bill Dalton
Trouble is there are many settings that may have an effect. You have set up your shop in someway that is different than mine. Hopefully someone will post a new idea. Or if you would like me to take a look PM me a shop login. But obviously I'm no expert.
