How to include cart details to Order Step pages?

Hi, Im modifying my checkout process and I would like to include the shopping cart total (everything after the product listings in the cart), but Im not sure how to do that.

 

What I did do was create the placement for the new section that Im adding. It serves the purpose of showing a summary of the order throughout each step. I looked into the OrderController.php to see if I could somehow include the variables and values of the shopping cart page to the subsequent pages, but I couldn't find anything.

 

The files that I would like to include the cart totals are:

 

- order-addresses.tpl

- order-carrier.tpl

- order-payment.tpl

- confirm.tpl (within my paypal payment module folder)

 

 

How would I do this?

 

I attached a screenshot of what Im trying to do. One is a working version from the actual shopping cart page and the other image is one of the checkout steps that Im trying to add the totals to.
