How to show scene of parent category

I have been trying to figure out how to show the assigned scene of a subcategory's parent. I know the imagemap option in the backend allows me to assign an image map/scene to whichever category I want, but anticipating creating many categories in the future I want an automated way of grabbing the scene of a parent category and assign that for each of its subcategories.

 

This will eliminate the need for me to manually assign scenes to each individual subcategory of a parent.

 

I would like to know if anyone as a solution for this and how do I implement it.
