bdfoto_bd-shop
As I say I'm new here and was recommended to Presta by one of your very happy users. I am slightly challenged by what I see in the back office but I'm getting there. It reminds me of Joomla (and I could never really get the hang of that). Please note I am selling high quality photographic imagery that includes artistic nudes. Please do not visit the site if you are of an age or live in a country where such access is illegal, or if you are offended by images of nudity. OK three quick questions. I have a "home page text editor" but can't see from where to run it. Where is the link to running it please? I want to get rid of all the dross on the home page provided with the template. I don't sell mobile phones and I'm not aware of any of my clients that speak Latin. I want to get rid of all that stuff and replace it with my personalisation. Again I can't find where to do it in the software's functions. Please point me in the right direction. Finally I want to prepare my own catalogue offline. I have downloaded the sample catalogue csv file. I run Excel 2000 (and refuse to pay Microsoft for later versions). I do have Access 2000 which would probably be easier to use. The semi-colon separators and commas in the content headers are causing me minor problems. Any suggestions please as to how to ease this problem? Finally - this is the site so far - http://www.bd-shop.co.uk/presta Many thanks in advance. Barney
bellini13
go to the modules section of your back office, and search for "home text editor". either disable it or edit it. that is the content you see on the home page. you could try to install a free office suite like openoffice http://www.openoffice.org/ it should have an excel like program that can deal with CSV files.

bdfoto_bd-shop
One quick question remains - how do I get rid of the picture of the building in the bottom right hand corner please.

bdfoto_bd-shop
Found it. Finally two small things: I've got rid of several blocks that way but see there are still links to them in the line of hyperlinks at the bottom of the screen. Where do I edit them please? And where do I go to change the text for the INFORMATION box on the left please? Barney
bellini13
It is likely the "CMS block" that you refer to for both the left and footer.
bdfoto_bd-shop
@Bellini13 Thank you so much for your help getting things started. It has really made things relatively easy. I am now really starting to fly with the site and hopefully will have everything fully up an running within a few days. Barney
